ESOL Winter Workshop at the Old Royal Naval College
During the December period, the Old Royal Naval College offers pomander making workshops for ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) groups. This relaxed, friendly workshop allows students to visit this UNESCO World Heritage site, whilst developing and practicing their English language skills.
The session includes a short informative presentation in graded language, relevant vocabulary pre-teaching, and a simple craft activity which can be taken home. All materials will be provided, along with light refreshments.
What is pomander making?
Pomander making is the process of decorating oranges with cloves and other spices to create a festive, aromatic Christmas decoration. The tradition of making pomanders became popular during the Victorian era, when people would hang them from Christmas trees, give them as gifts, and use them as air fresheners
This Winter workshop is a popular seasonal offer, running in November and December only, so booking early is suggested to avoid disappointment.
