Horrible Histories – Rotten Royals

This is the latest in the Horrible Histories series of stage shows. It is a compilation of hilarious sketches, all featuring mad monarchs from our history. The show is great fun as well as informative, full of funny jokes, daft songs and silliness galore! Would you be wooed by Richard the Lionheart? Are you ready for a date with King Edward I? Would you be shaken or stirred by Richard III? See Mary Tudor knock the spots off Mary Queen of Scots! Can evil Elizabeth entertain England? Will you be hanged by King James for being a witch? Singalong with crazy King Charles and move to the groove with party Queen Victoria!

It’s history with the nasty bits left in!

This show is made up of some of the craziest and most hilarious bits from the Barmy Britain series of shows. However, many have not been performed in many years, so will be unfamiliar to the audiences of today

Terry Deary is the world’s best selling non-fiction author for children and has won countless book awards. The show is adapted from several of his famous books in the Horrible Histories series. Birmingham Stage Company, who are bringing this fantastically funny show here, are one of the world’s most successful companies at staging children’s stories for family audiences. Their past triumphs your audience might have seen include our David Walliams shows, including Gangsta Granny, Demon Dentist and Billionaire Boy, or our adaptations of Roald Dahl stories like George’s Marvelous Medicine
